There are lots of local and national research studies running at University Hospitals Birmingham. Over 700 patients undergoing thoracic surgery took part in research last year. Our research team may ask to discuss suitable studies with you when you attend the preoperative assessment clinic and give you the opportunity to take part. Participation is always voluntary and you are not obliged to take part.
